The Twins' Christmas Wish List

  • Laundry baskets.
  • DVD cases.  Like, just the cases, they don't even need the DVDs.
  • Caden: to be allowed to pull Brooklyn's hair.
  • Brooklyn: for Caden to stop pulling my hair.
  • Windows.
  • Blinds for the windows.
  • Things to stack (well, for mommy and daddy to stack) that they can knock over.  Again.  And again.  And again.
  • Longer bathtimes.  Like until they are completely prunes and as warm as icicles.  Actually, let's just live in the bathtub.

  • Food.  Mostly cereal puffs, cheese, scrambled eggs, and turkey.
  • Tissue paper.
  • Plastic bags.
  • Electronics cords.
  •  Also, electronics.  Expensive ones.  A laptop, iPad, and/or iPhone would all be acceptable.  Probably a DSLR camera, too.
  • Empty cardboard boxes.

  • To be allowed into the bathroom.
  • To be allowed to play with the toilet in the bathroom.
  • Cabinet doors. (For banging.)
  • Mirrors.

  • A TV remote.
  • Basically don't waste your money on anything that is actually a toy.

Post (Thanksgiving) Weekend

These two turkeys enjoyed their first Thanksgiving, even if they had no idea what it was all about.

(Best outtake ever.)

Food.  It was about the food.  Still is about the food for them.  Brooklyn can put down turkey like nobody's business.  She's probably about eaten her weight in turkey in the past five days.

Oh hey...is that turkey?

Kay, here's a smile, now...turkey?

Please?  This is lame.

*garbled chewing sounds*

Stuff their face?  Who, me?

It was also about that black box in our living room suddenly coming to life and showing moving pictures.  Parades! People singing!  People cheering!  People in funny outfits chasing after a ball and colliding with each other!  That was pretty interesting.

But mostly it was about the food.

Tyson took pride in carving the turkey this year.  Mostly because he didn't forget the talking-to he got the last time we hosted Thanksgiving.  When I asked him to carve the turkey he looked up from where he had been parked afternoon on the floor, watching football, looked at me incredulously, and said, "What?  I don't know how to carve a turkey."

Y'know.  Because I roast twelve-pound birds every day.

Lucky for him this year, he did a good job.

Okay, so actually Thanksgiving was mostly about the family.

BONUS

This is Caden pre-gaming for Thanksgiving last week.

He fell asleep so hard that Tyson and I were able to remove his tray and bib, unstrap him from his high chair, and maneuver him onto the floor (onto a towel, since he was covered in rice/miscellaneous food bits/was basically an ever-loving mess).

Post-Weekend(ish)

Where one goes...

...the other follows.  They take turns being the leader and the follower, but it's always the same; where you find one, you will find the other.

This weekend it was into our bedroom, which apparently was THE place to be.

Yeah, those sheets may or may not have been sitting there waiting to be folded for about two weeks.  Just ignore them and move on, buddy.

Brooklyn is still winning in the hair department.  But look!  (Closely!)  Caden has actually been getting a lot of hair.  Relatively speaking.

The main fascination was the window.

Though Caden also rekindled his relationship with the mirror.

"Guess what?  You have to wash this now!"

We were sick again (colds...though it's amazing how a cold can knock you out.  Especially when there are little people around that DON'T LET YOU FREAKING SLEEP.  Though in their defense, it was because they were also sick and couldn't breathe, which is actually a pretty legit reason to keep waking up), so mostly we done hung out at home.  (Hence the 2879 photos I took over the weekend.  Something to do besides stack up another tower of blocks + avoiding any real work I should be doing.  Good work, me.)

The ottoman was also a favorite place to hang out, and make goofy faces.

"Mine!"

"Let me be all adorable and twin-like and tell you a secret..."

"Just kidding!  Imma eat your ear!"

Daddy was available for cuddles when stuffy noses got to be just too much.

Also, Caden's turn to figure out the stairs.  (Please note the safety net poised below.)  He climbed up to the first step last night and up the first few steps today...we'll see if the interest continues.  (Fingers crossed for NO since I'm avoiding buying a baby gate.)

"Dude, I got this."

Now prepping for Thanksgiving (buy ALL the food!  Vaccuum!  Dust!  Clean bathrooms!  Put toys away somewhere!  Anywhere!) and attempting to get over this stupid cold *cough cough*.

Fingers crossed they can breathe and stay asleep tonight.
